The Sunday Solitude.
Saturday, Saturday......kardi rehndi hai ...kudi...as I was tapping my feet to this party song by Akriti and Badshah ..the anthem of the parties, a thought gripped my mind...the conditioning we have about the days of the week...can we undo?
After an eventful week and a joyfull Saturday, my mind was automatically tuned to 'The Sunday Solitude".If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine ; it is lethal says Paulo Coelho.
No appointments, early morning sessions, no bed tea ...no rush for getting ready...just nothing!
I write, I think , I observe
Observe what I want
Wants are many
Many kead to more
More can be everything
Everything can be nothing
Nothingness is a bliss.
These lines which I wrote few years back, I subscribe to as a reminder daily, as a part of my self work.
Nothingness comes with a cost...cost of self work. More of solitude, more of self work...silence,reflection...end product....we do have a choice..
Why, Jon, why?" his mother asked. "Why is it so hard to be like the rest of the flock, Jon? Why can't you leave low flying to the pelicans, the alhatross? Why don't you eat? Son, you're bone and feathers!" "I don't mind being bone and feathers mom. I just want to know what I can do in the air and what I can't, that's all. I just want to know.
His one sorrow was not solitude, it was that the other gulls refused to believe the glory of flight that awaited them; they refused to open their eyes and see.”
Richard Bach writes in Jonathan Livingston Seagull emphasizing on the power of going beyond using solitude as one of the strategy.
"Whenever you have leisure, go into solitude for a day or two. At that time don't have any relations with the outside world and don't hold any conversation with worldly people on worldly affairs. You must live either in solitude or in the company of holy men"said Swami Ramakrishna..
Monday mornings ...is not just an American medical drama, but can become real life drama if we don't uncondition ourselves from the thought of.....oh ...again ...the same routine...same shit...!
Solitude is important...so is everyday life.
Can we refuse to believe in the power of ...One day at a time!
