Listener wanted!

Yesterday, I put out a simple message in one of my groups:

“Are there any listeners available?”

Two people reached out.I smiled. There is something deeply reassuring about that....that somewhere, people are willing to hold space.

But then, something rather beautiful and funny happened.

As we began talking, the roles quietly dissolved. Before I knew it, they weren’t listening to me…they were sharing their own stories.

And I found myself listening.

At some point, I stopped trying to correct it.

I just sat there, smiling, receiving their words, their pauses, their honesty.

And later, I laughed. Really laughed.

Because isn’t that what it is, after all?

We are all, in our own ways,

walking around with stories that want to be heard.

Sometimes we volunteer to listen,

only to discover… we needed a listener too.

No training prepares you for this.

No structure can fully contain it.

Just human beings,taking turns......sometimes unknowingly—

being the listener and the one who needs to be heard.

Listener wanted, story teller arrived.

And perhaps, that is the real listening circle.
