The langar.

Is my well-being linked to the well-being of others?I had this thought while observing the people who were in the queue for receiving their share of the langar.

At the same time the thought was for  one meal they are standing in a queue.

What is that we need to be grateful for, appreciative of?

Are we really in some position to do some charity? Who are we?I think it's only a little bit of what we have, what we can share with others. And it is the graciousness of others that they accept this .

That feeling of humbleness and it makes one  feel how we belong to the larger community. Everybody deserves the best.

Guru Nanak's teaching of "Vand Chakna" is a beautiful concept.

"Vand Chakna" roughly translates to "sharing with others" or "distribution of wealth". It's one of the three pillars of Sikhism, along with "Naam Japna" (remembering God's name) and "Kirat Karo" (honest labor).

Gurbani (Sikh scriptures) that emphasize the importance of sharing:

"Vand chakko, khao khilao, aise khilarey, jehnaa na koi vair" (Share with others, and feed them, this is the way to play, where there is no enemy) - Guru Granth Sahib, Page 85

"Jine vandia, tine khaya, jine khaya, tine vandia" (Those who share, they eat, and those who eat, they share) - Guru Granth Sahib, Page 269

Charity???? Really ??? Who are we ???

Sharing with others......Why not we???

His  grace !

Let's share a cup of coffee.
